About This Spot

Stepping into Kasturi feels like crossing a small threshold into the heart of Bangladeshi daily life, tucked away on a bustling Los Angeles street. The space hums with quiet energy — busy but unhurried, where the aroma of warming spices and slow-simmered curries drifts softly through the air, weaving a peaceful rhythm amid the city’s pace. This is a place where the familiarity of home cooking meets the gentle, welcoming buzz of a local neighborhood spot.

Here, the essence of Bangladeshi culture is served not just on plates, but through the warm attentiveness of the people who bring this vibrant cuisine to life. The atmosphere is approachable and relaxed, inviting guests to linger over their meal, share stories, and indulge in familiar flavors with a subtle complexity that reflects home-style traditions.

From the delicate balance of spice in the meat curries to the comforting crumbly textures of freshly made snacks, each bite holds a story. Whether it’s the fragrant layers of biryani or the sweet creaminess of a classic mishti doi, Kasturi’s offerings feel lovingly crafted, bringing subtle notes that unfold alongside engaging conversations and the quiet clinking of tea cups. For those who appreciate ingredients as much as dishes, the adjoining grocery and spice store become a treasure trove, offering a glimpse into the pantry essentials that shape each meal.

The feeling here is one of discovery rooted in authenticity — a gentle reminder that these meals are borne of family kitchens and shared memory, with an honesty that translates easily across cultures. Kasturi invites you not just to eat, but to experience a slice of Bangladeshi life through its flavors, its aromas, and the simple, patient joy of good food served with care.

Fantastic Bangladeshi flavors! Delicious food, warm hospitality, and authentic dishes that truly hit the spot. Don’t miss the Breakfast combo with cha. Also, they have the best “Doi Fuchka”. A must-visit for anyone craving real Bangladeshi taste in LA!

I recently ordered catering from Kasturi and I really want to appreciate Mukul bhai (manager) and Bhabi, the owner’s wife and main chef. From start to finish, Mukul bhai was kind, patient, and very professional, and Bhabi’s cooking honestly felt like proper home-style food . The tea with sugar cane was amazing, the chotpoti was one of the best I’ve had, and the gorom gorom singara were perfectly crispy and fresh. The tehari was flavorful, the chicken roast was tender, the beef curry was my absolute favorite, the shami kabab were top-notch, and even the Thai vegetables were delicious. Kasturi made our event feel special, and I truly appreciate the hard work of both Mukul bhai and Bhabi. I’ll definitely order from them again and recommend them to others.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Bangladeshi restaurant. We tried a variety of dishes, including Alu vorta, Shutki vorta, Rui fish curry, chicken roast, duck curry and beef, plain rice, Tehari (to go), tea, doi, roshgolla, and Malai vog. Every single item was delicious and well-prepared. The flavors were authentic and reminded us of true Bangladeshi home-style cooking. The duck curry was especially tasty, and the vorta dishes were fresh and full of flavor. Desserts were also great and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, all the food items were very good, and we really enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Bangladeshi cuisine!

Visiting LA from PNW, I have tried several (3) Bangladeshi Restaurants. Kasturi won the top rank among them for its authentic Bangladeshi food, price, and hospitality. This restaurant beat the others on food quality and price. What I like most about Kasturi is they avoid using too much oil in their food yet somehow able to bring the authentic Bangladeshi taste in their food. Love it ! The atmosphere could be better but I wouldn’t mind the existing one if the atmosphere improvement comes with higher price . Oh, their “Misti” (the while long one) is the best Misti I have had in both Bangladesh and in the states —- soft, juicy, and not too sweet. Wish you opened a branch in Seattle !

Kasturi is a wonderful family-owned gem in the heart of LA’s Little Bangladesh, serving delicious, authentic South Asian food with warm, friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The dishes are full of rich flavor and prepared with care, and the attached market is a huge bonus — offering great South Asian groceries, spices, and all the essentials you can’t easily find elsewhere. Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty meal or picking up specialty ingredients, Kasturi is a true community favorite and a spot I’ll keep coming back to.

Dining at this Bangladeshi restaurant was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped inside, I felt immersed in the warm and vibrant spirit of Bangladesh. The cozy décor, traditional touches, and inviting atmosphere created the perfect setting for an authentic culinary experience. The food was truly exceptional. Every dish was rich, aromatic, and full of the classic Bangladeshi flavors that make the cuisine so special. The biryani was fragrant and perfectly spiced, the bhuna dishes were tender, fish and vegetable dishes were deeply flavorful, and the freshly made naan and paratha were soft and delicious. I was especially impressed by how well-balanced the spices were—bold, but never overwhelming. You can really taste the care and authenticity in every bite. The service was outstanding as well. The staff including the owner was warm, attentive, and happy to explain the dishes or offer recommendations, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this restaurant delivers a truly memorable taste of Bangladesh. Whether you’re craving comforting home-style dishes or exploring Bangladeshi cuisine for the first time in Korea town, Little Bangladesh, this place is an absolute must-visit.
